Dominican Students March in Solidarity for Black Lives

Thursday, November 5, 2020

Dominican students gathered in the Quad to rally in support of Black lives lost by police violence and White supremacists. The student-led event was organized by several organizations, including the Dominican chapter of the National Association of Colored Women's Club, the Black Student Union, and Common Ground. Following several speeches by student leaders, the group, which included faculty, staff and students, walked from the Main Campus to the Priory Campus and back.

"Until police stop killing us, I won't stop protesting. Until Black people are truly seen as people in this country, I won't stop protesting," said Lauryn Bergert, the lead organizer of the event, in an article in the Wednesday Journal.
