Student-Athletes Set Record 3.55 GPA

Friday, May 22, 2020

Dominican University student athletes set a record combined grade point average of 3.55 during the Spring 2020 semester. The record-breaking semester comes on the heels of what had been the Stars' all-time high in fall 2019 when student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.33.

"It's a testament to how hard our students work in the classroom,' said Athletic Director Erick Baumann. "Despite a change in the way our student-athletes were learning mid-semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they managed to focus and continue to make the entire Dominican community proud."

In total, 34 student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 GPAs for the spring semester and 92 were named to the Dean's List, earning a 3.9 GPA or higher. In addition to their academic success, four of six possible teams were in their respective conference post-season playoffs prior to the cancellation of NCAA championships in mid-March.
