Will colleges open in the fall? If they do, expect changes: "All of this is uncharted waters"

Like many other universities, Dominican University is exploring ways to reopen campus in the fall. President Donna Carroll shared that she is looking at the possibility of adjusting dorms, including placing students in single rooms, and offering hybrid classes to limit campus density. Since Dominican relies predominently on tuition to operate, a sharp drop in enrollment could be devastating.

"You're trying to balance giving students, families and faculty confidence that we'll be opening face-to-face in the fall, which is our hope and our intent, and at the same time planning for contingencies. So you're really operating in two different conversations and everything in between," she said.
