Stars Host GiGI's Playhouse for Exposition Basketball Game

Monday, February 3, 2020

Dominican's department of athletics hosted on Saturday, February 1 members of GiGi's Playhouse for a day of fun before the Stars' doubleheader men's and women's basketball games. GiGi's Playhouse is a national network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, designed to empower families impacted by Down Syndrome by maximizing opportunities for daily achievement and acceptance.

Members of GiGi's Playhouse warmed up with the Dominican men's and women's basketball teams and the Student Athletic Advisory Committee before playing an exposition game in front of cheering families, friends and Dominican students. Following the game, the athletic department and Northwestern Mutual sponsored a pizza lunch before inviting GiGi's Playhouse members to stay and enjoy the men's basketball game.

The partnership with GiGi's Playhouse was arranged by Amanda Parker, head women's basketball coach.
