Thomas Barthelmess

Lecturer, GSLIS Curator for Butler Children's Literature Center

Thom Barthelmess is curator of the Butler Children's Literature Center, one of the nation's premier centers for the study of children's and young adult literature in the services of literacy, learning and a life-long love of reading. He also is a lecturer in the GSLIS, teaching courses on children's literature, youth services and collection development. Prior to joining Dominican, he was Youth Services Manager at Austin (Texas) Public Library and previously was Youth Services Coordinator at Spokane Public Library. He is a past president of the American Library Association's Association for Library Service to Children and currently chairs the Boston Globe Horn Book Awards Jury.
