Brennan School of Business Faculty Members Featured as Expert Resources on WalletHub

Monday, March 12, 2018

River Forest, IL – Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business faculty members Brooke Reavey and Mike Kiyosaki were recently featured as expert resources for WalletHub, a personal finance website and social network. Reavey, assistant professor of marketing, was featured on March 7 in an article about attractive credit card deals. Kiyosaki was quoted in an article last month about the meaning of credit scores.

In "Best Credit Card Deals," Reavey advised that credit card companies are becoming aware of the costs that customers incur when switching cards, especially if they extensively use credit cards for automatic payments. This has boosted the costs of customer acquisitions, especially for consumers who spend $20,000 per year. She advises consumers to check out the perks and promos, such as mileage and restaurant deals, that companies offer when they are evaluating different credit cards.

In "What is a Credit Score? Credit Score Definition and More," Kiyosaki advises that credit scores are important because they are used as input for renting apartments, securing home loans, enrolling in credit cards and applying for jobs. He recommends that people subscribe to a free monitoring service and check their information quarterly to understand their credit health and to be alerted to fraudulent activity and identity theft.
