Dominican Presents SONGBOOK: Steven Page and the Art of Time Ensemble

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Dominican University will present a contemporary chamber music performance by Steven Page and the Art of Time on Friday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 7900 W. Division, River Forest.

In SONGBOOK: Steven Page and the Art of Time Ensemble, Page, founder and former lead singer of the Barenaked Ladies, joins Toronto’s inventive Art of Time Ensemble in an evening of songs by renowned artists, including Randy Newman, Radiohead, Elvis Costello, Barenaked Ladies, and Leonard Cohen.

Page has enjoyed an eclectic musical career supporting musicians in his native Canada and issuing solo albums, including A Singer Must Die (2010), Page One (2010) and Heal Thyself Pt 1: Instinct (2016). He has also toured with the Trans-Canada Highwaymen, a group of fellow Canadian musicians, including Moe Berg, Craig Northey and Chris Murphy, who perform covers of songs from the members’ respective bands.

The Art of Time Ensemble was launched in 1998 by Andrew Burashko with the support of a small group of like-minded musicians and prominent figures in dance, theatre and other art forms. Word quickly spread through Toronto's cultural scene, and today Art of Time works with some of the best Canadian artists in the performing arts, film and literature as well as noteworthy international musicians.

Together, Page and the Art of Time Ensemble reimagine and reinvent classic pop, jazz and classical songs to deliver a defining new voice in contemporary rock. Tickets start at $24. For tickets and more information, visit www.events.dom.edu or contact the box office (708) 488-5000.
