Students Bottle Honey Harvest

Monday, November 20, 2017

Students who have been involved in harvesting the honey of Dominican's four beehives spent Wednesday morning, December 13 bottling 50 pounds of the sweet, sticky "nectar of the gods." The bottling operation capped the end of the fall semester and included a lunch in the nutrition lab--with honey tastings for dessert, of course.

The beekeeping and honey harvesting has been a collaborative project of students in classes taught by Ellen McManus, professor of English; Tama Weisman, associate professor of philosophy; and Scott Kreher, associate professor of biology. They're looking forward to an even bigger harvest next year. Bee there or bee square!
