University sets course to connect with big data jobs

The Ledger did a story on the new Master of Science in Information Management program at Dominican.

The university launched a new Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM) program as well as an undergraduate program in informatics last spring. Both programs prepare students for challenging careers in data management, one of the fastest growing fields in the country. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that information-related jobs are projected to grow 15 to 21 percent over the next decade. Information drives innovation in industries as diverse as health care, education, transportation and government, and Chicago, in particular, is emerging as a data analytics hub.
