Marie Masterson

Assistant Professor, School of Education

Marie Masterson serves as an educational consultant to state and local schools and early childhood organizations. She is an early childhood researcher, child behavior expert, teacher and parent educator. As early childhood specialist for the Virginia Department of Education, she provided leadership to state level organization such as The Virginia Preschool Initiative, and served as a liaison to the state Head Start Organization, Inclusive Placement Opportunities for Preschoolers and the Virginia Quality Star Rating System. She is the coordinator of the Director’s Institute at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Masterson was the recipient of an Early Childhood Education Fulbright Specialist grant and in the summer of 2011 traveled to Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand to establish a teacher training institute and complete cross-cultural research in early childhood education.
