Marcella Hermesdorf, OP

Assistant Professor, English

​Sister Marcella Hermesdorf, OP, has served in various roles at Dominican University since 1980. She is currently assistant professor of English and the director of Dominican’s study abroad program in London. She has also served as instructor of English, director of international studies, international student advisor, campus minister and the on-site director of the London program. She has been a member of the Study Abroad Committee since 1997. In 2008 she received Dominican University’s Excellence in Teaching and Leadership Award. Her academic interests include correspondence and letters from 18th-century England, as well as the writings of Hannah More and Horace Walpole. Hermesdorf is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Samuel Johnson Society of North America.
