Jodi Cressman

Founding Director, Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Associate Professor of English

As the founding director of the Borra Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Jodi Cressman works with faculty to assess and strengthen student learning and to initiate and sustain the scholarship of teaching and learning. She also teaches English courses and liberal arts and science seminars. Her research has focused on autobiography, as well as higher education topics such as professional development for adjunct faculty and helping students develop broad understanding of intellectual and cultural ideas. Previously, Cressman taught American literature and directed the Office for Teaching, Learning and Assessment at DePaul University. She also served as an assessment mentor for the Higher Learning Commission and is currently an advisory board member for the Chicago Area Faculty Development Network.
