Jeffrey Carlson has been dean of the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and professor of theology at Dominican University since 2002. He teaches courses on theology, Christian history and interreligious dialogue, as well as liberal arts and sciences seminars. As dean, Carlson is responsible for the recruitment and development of arts and sciences faculty, curriculum development and initiating and implementing polices and plans for the college in collaboration with the faculty and the university administration. Previously, Carlson was associate dean for undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at DePaul University. He is a trustee of the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area, a member of the Advisory Board of Trustees of the West Suburban College of Nursing, and trustee emeritus of the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions. His academic research has focused on the historical Jesus and Christian faith, theological method, religious identity, Buddhist-Christian dialogue, integrative undergraduate pedagogy, and pedagogy in the teaching of religion.
