James Twomey

Adjunct Faculty, GSLIS

James Twomey has been an adjunct faculty member for the Graduate School of Library and Information Science since 2004, teaching a course on preservation and conservation. Since 1982 he has been the owner of Book Restoration Company, which specializes in the restoration of antiquarian books and maps. His clients include individuals, rare book dealers, collectors, theological seminaries, research libraries, state archives and historical libraries.

Twomey has presented workshops and seminars throughout North America, Europe and Asia on topics such as “The Egyptian Book of the Dead,” “A Short History of Books before Printing,” “Deacidification: The Practical and the Possible,” and “Care and Safekeeping of Family Heirloom Books and Documents.”
